To Opt-In or Opt-out?
The UK Data Protection Act of 1998 will soon receive an alteration.
The amendment to the Data Protection Act will see cookie consent pop-ups – the box you see every time you visit our website – become a thing of the past, with websites automatically opting users into accepting ‘non-intrusive’ cookies, but will still have the ability to opt-out whenever they please.
This has caused some issues with privacy experts and users alike, with Jon Callas (TechRadar) stating that ‘a good privacy regime [should] revolve around opting-in, rather than opting-out.’ Further stating that ‘The responsible thing to do is ask.’ You can read more about this change by visiting:
