Make the transition to Veeam Universal Licensing

Feb 14, 2022 | Backup, News

Veeam Universal License (VUL)

Veeam have announced that effective from 1st July 2022 they will cease the sale of per-socket perpetual licenses for Veeam Backup & Replication, Veeam Availability Suite, Veeam Backup Essentials and Veeam ONE to both new and existing customers for all editions.

Veeam will be encouraging customers to make the transition to Veeam Universal License (VUL) which are sold in packs of 10.

VMhosts can offer an alternative by allowing customers to purchase via the Veeam Volume Rental Agreement (VRA). The benefits over moving to VRA are as follows:

  • Sold monthly, quarterly or yearly.
  • Sold on an individual workload.
  • Includes Veeam Cloud Connect at no extra charge

This means the customer will be able to increase or decrease their workloads based on the business requirements and only pay for the workloads they use.

Top tip:

We love the space saving and speed Veeam REFS integration provides. For increased stability and performance make sure you have trim disabled! (Watch out for the double negative you need to enable the disable).
